Awarded each year to the dog or bitch owned by a Club member resident in Scotland gaining the most points at championship shows .
1 point for a class win, 2 points for RCC, 3 points for CC and an extra point for Best of Breed or Best Puppy.

***Flatcoated Retriever Club of Scotland 40th Anniversary and The Murray Challenge***
An informal day open to ALL flatcoated retrievers, no previous experience of showing or working is necessary
Unfortunately, due to insufficient numbers, we are no longer running the planned sessions on Friday 19th and Sunday 21st September, but are instead concentrating our efforts on one super fun-packed day on Saturday 20 September!
The event will be held at Wiston Lodge, Millrigg Road, Wiston, Biggar ML12 6HT.
We will have:
⭐️ The Murray Challenge
⭐️ Grooming and trimming demonstration
⭐️ A fun scurry
⭐️ Have a go at showing
This day is for all flatcoat owners and enthusiasts, it isn't necessary to be a member of the FRCS, whether you have a family pet, show or working dog, this event is for you!
The Murray Challenge - is a conformation and working assessment - no prior training or experience is required to enter - the emphasis is on the natural talents and breed type that your dog already has. There will be special cash awards for the top scorers, each dog taking part will receive a special rosette, and there is a lovely trophy for the winner!
Think your flatcoat needs a bit of a tidy up but don't know where or how to start? We will have a professional groomer (who has flatcoats!) giving a grooming and trimming demonstration.
We will be running a scurry - a fun event, where your dog may surprise you!
Wonder what it's like to be in the show ring? Come and have a go at showing - in a 1-2-1 informal session.
This is first and foremost a fun event and a chance to meet other likeminded flatcoat owners.
Cost - £15 day ticket (includes lunch and all refreshments) plus £2.50 per dog entry to the Murray Challenge.

**** Working Flatcoated Retriever Development Programme Training (WFRDP) ****
Some of our members have now completed the foundation level of the Flatcoated Retriever Society's 'Working Flatcoated Retriever Development Programme' (link here). This programme is designed to encourage owners to train their dogs for gundog work.
