Maureen Scott (Branchalwood)
We are deeply saddened to report the passing of one of the breeds most respected and influential personalities, Maureen Scott of the world renowned Branchalwood kennel. Maureen, along with her late husband John and her parents Scott and Sheila Dalziel, were dedicated breed enthusiasts since they obtained their first Flatcoats in the 1970s and produced many champions both for themselves and other exhibitors, a number of our most successful kennels in Scotland and beyond were founded on Branchalwood lines or enhanced by using one of their stud dogs. Although it was a team effort, it was Maureen who most people knew best, as a highly successful exhibitor, a hugely respected judge and an active member of our club of which she was a founder member, past chair and vice chair, putting many hours of hard work in to making it a success. She was also a past secretary of her local dog club, Cumnock & District Canine Club which remained very dear to her after she stepped down from the secretary role.
Her achievements in our breed were many, her immense knowledge was always happily shared and her sound advice freely given and appreciated by anyone who needed it. A kind and generous person by nature, she was a friend to many in our breed and beyond and many lives have been better for having had Maureen in them.
Our sincere condolences are sent at this sad time to her family whom she loved deeply.
